Introduction

Please consider the real Jesus and the original gospel. We have to become like the noble Bereans enough to look up just a few scriptures and to recognize that the holy scriptures do not contradict (when properly translated, interpreted and understood), then seek God for the solution to any seeming 'contradictions'.

See the original gospel first preached by Peter after receiving the Holy Spirit: "Jesus of Nazareth, a man..." Acts 2:22  (An amazing fact is clear in vs 36 that GOD HAS MADE "THIS" MAN JESUS TO BE LORD!!  HE IS NOT A MERE ORDINARY MAN OF THE EARTH, not at all, but PLEASE PAY ATTENTION AND do not fail to learn that Christ is the Second Adam, the Last Adam, God's ultimate and original intent and purpose for "man". The Bible shows that man was chosen by God for the highest position possible, and put all things under his control, not leaving anything out. (Ps. 8:4, Heb. 6:2-1). Notice the context, we are first warned to "Pay VERY CAREFUL attention"!! Then we are told that Jesus was made fully human, that means that he cannot literally be God, because we know that God says that he is not a man or a son of man, and God has no God):Hebrews chapter 2:

Warning to Pay Attention

We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. For since the message spoken through angelswas binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him. God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will. Then some versions have: "Jesus Made Fully Human"- this subtitle not in original Greek but is inserted as a matter of translation) It is not to angels that he has subjected the world to come, about which we are speaking. But there is a place where someone has testified:

“What is man that you are mindful of him,
a son of man that you care for him?
You made him a little lower than the angels;
you crowned him with glory and honor
and put everything under his feet.”

In putting everything under him, God left nothing that is not subject to him. Yet at present we do not see everything subject to him.  But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone. These verses again clearly show that God is God the Father and Jesus is the Messiah, the son of God.

Please notice how Jesus, while praying to his God, calls his God, God the Father, "The Only True God" in Jn 17:3! And notice how Jesus still calls God the Father, "My God" (FOUR TIMES HERE) Rev 3:12!!

And listen to Jesus' own testimony, true of course: "...me a man who told you the truth I heard from God" Jn 8:40  Therefore, we cannot be afraid of confronting the many more clear proofs that Jesus is declared by God, by himself, by the apostle's doctrine, and therefore by reality and fact to be "the man Christ Jesus (1 Tim 2:5).", as opposed to the false teaching that Jesus is literally God or that he is a literal "God-man" (somehow literally God while simultaneously being fully human with a God he prays to, worships, and obeys), which the Bible does not teach. I can give many scriptures to prove this, why are so many afraid of what the bible says about Jesus the real man, the Second and Last Adam?? There must be a reason!

And yet it greatly behooves us to listen to the truth about God and Jesus spelled out very clearly in the gospel truth by the Apostles: "Although there are many Gods and many Lords, yet FOR US THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD: THE FATHER, from whom are all things, and for whom we live, AND (THERE IS ONLY) ONE LORD, JESUS CHRIST, through whom are all things, and through whom we live. BUT NOT EVERYONE KNOWS THIS." 1 Cor 8:5-8.

And again, "For there is ONE GOD, AND one mediator between God and men, THE MAN Christ Jesus." 1 Tim 2:5 And also, "There is ONE LORD (Jesus), one faith, one baptism, ONE GOD AND FATHER OF ALL..." Eph 4:4,5

I want to point out, for the benefit of anyone who might have read only parts of my beliefs and yet not ever take the time to read more of my writings about the real Jesus, that I do not believe that Jesus is just the best of earthling men. He is not merely a man of the dust of the Earth, as Adam was. He is called, "The man from Heaven", "The Second Adam", "The Last Adam" although he was certainly made to be like us in every possible way, even sharing in our flesh and blood. He is really God's son, nonetheless he is fully human (as the First Adam was fully human while being the son of God), thank God, or he could not have become our perfect substitute and our Faithful High Priest, and perfectly one with us so we could be perfectly one with him!! The Word of God personified, who existed in the form of God (he was a spirit being like God in every possible way, living with God in perfect harmony and unity and love, in the bosom of the Father- yet God was his God and the source of his being), if you will, the visible clone of the invisible God, was made to be a new kind of human from Heaven, fully human, AND THE BIBLE NEVER SAYS HE STOPPED BEING A MAN!!

He is the NEW MAN (Eph 2:14-16), A WHOLE NEW SPECIES AND RACE, and only because he is THE MAN we can now become new creatures, new creations, new men in union with him forever. There is actually a group of folks, and it should not surprise me, who have been building their denomination on the facts concerning who Jesus isn't, yet they do not know at all who the real Jesus really is, intimately and experientially, according to the accurate knowledge of who he in fact really is! Some of them are called Jehovah's Witnesses, and some are called "Biblical Unitarians" or similar. They do not recognize that Jesus existed with God, in the form of God, and was Godlike in character and nature before he emptied himself and was sent to become made like us as a man of flesh and blood, as a servant, to become completely identified with us in our flesh and blood humanity so we could become completely identified with him as to his sonship and relationship and fullness with God. Don't fall for those who cause divisions, who are merely natural men, having not the Spirit (Jude). My very limited observation is that you won't usually find anyone who believes that Jesus did not pre exist receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit, and therefore coming to know him intimately. It is only by the Holy Spirit that we can understand the holy scriptures!!

The scriptures are clear that God fully lives in Christ, and that Christ is the exact image and representation of The Invisible God. He lives completely in God, is completely of God, and is fully like God in every possible way. Therefore, there is a perfect unity, a perfect oneness between God and the Lord Jesus, exemplified in the Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of God the Father in union with the spirit of the glorified Lord Jesus Christ, that we cannot fully understand yet. Yet Jesus was never God living in a body (but he is the man from Heaven in whom God lived and through whom God revealed himself), or God in skin, but he is the Word OF God who, because he was OF God, was able to become a real man of flesh and blood in whom God fully lived and who fully lived in God (it is still this way). God was his God and God still is his God (Rev 3:12 for one example).

Jesus came in the name of God the Father, doing only God's will, God's deeds, speaking God's words. He claimed that he did nothing on his own, but that it was the Father living in him doing the works, showing him what to do and say. Because of this perfect union, so many things spoken of about God apply to Jesus, yet he is still OF God himself, and himself not literally God. There is only one God, God the Father, and Jesus has been given the fulness of God's Holy Spirit, of God's divinity, living inside him, as his possession!! yet that does not mean that Jesus is literally God. (2 Pt 1:4). Jesus was not merely a body obeying God's commands from inside, HE WAS A REAL MAN OF FLESH AND BLOOD, WHO WAS FILLED WITH THE FULL MEASURE OF GOD'S HOLY SPIRIT, CHOOSING TO FOLLOW, TO LOVE, TO SERVE AND TO OBEY HIS FATHER AND HIS GOD (HIS "GOD" MEANS THE SOURCE OF HIS BEING WHO HE WORSHIPED, SERVED AND OBEYED).

We must first make sure we are on the right foundation: Peter rightly identified 'the Son of Man', Jesus, saying, "You are the Christ, the son of the living God" (... my Father in Heaven revealed this to you and upon THIS ROCK I shall build my church). Jesus is the Second Adam, the Man from Heaven (1 Cor 15:47), not the God man, not God in the flesh (he is the full personified representation of God and the revelation of God living in the man Christ Jesus). Jesus interestingly still calls God "MY GOD" Rev 3:12. That has major implications, because that demonstrates that God the Father is not only Jesus' Father but also his God, the source of his being. Our Apostle Peter, freshly filled with the Holy Spirit, later identified Jesus as a man (Acts 2:22), and said that God has made this man Jesus Lord (Ac 2:36). Of course so did Paul many times in Rom ch 5, 1 Cor ch 15, Acts 17:31, 1 Tim 2:5...  and please notice here that only the man Christ Jesus can be our mediator!! and please notice that it is only through the man Christ Jesus that we can rule and reign in life to overcome. (1 Cor. 15:47) And also please notice that only those who believe and proclaim that Jesus is the Son of God can overcome the world. (1 Jn. 5:5). The issue was never whether Jesus was literally God or not, but whether he was the Christ, the son of God.

If you have a "different Jesus" and "a different gospel that is really no gospel at all" then dont be surprised if you keep on sinning.  Jesus clearly said that, "Whoever sins is a slave to sin, and the slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son abides (in the family) forever."  Well, notice who the sons are, as defined by the Bible:  "Those who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God."  And it says that those who stop sinning are shown to be the true sons of God and those who keep sinning are demonstrated to be children of the Devil (1 Jn. 3:4-10). God's grace is sufficient for us to stop sinning (1 Cor 15:34 and Rom 6)

Please make sure tha you dont what the Bible calls "a different Jesus." If you have a different Jesus you cannot overcome this world (1 Jn 5:5) and you cannot rule and reign in life (Rom 5:17)! and if you have what the bible calls "A different gospel which is really no gospel at all" you will soon see why the wrong gospel is not real "Good News" because you will not be set free from your slavery to your secret sins!

The false gospel says that God so loved the world that He became a man and died, but the original gospel says that He sent his son! The original gospel says that "..Jesus of Nazareth, A MAN..." (Acts 2:22) but now days people are so blind and lazy and self confident they don't care (that's the same way God's people ended up not recognizing the humble man Christ Jesus the first time and actually crucifying him!). The original gospel says, according to Acts 10:38 "...how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him."  It clearly says, please notice, that "GOD ANOINTED JESUS", NOT GOD BECAME JESUS. It says that "GOD WAS WITH" JESUS, AND "GOD WAS IN CHRIST", NOT JESUS WAS GOD!

Likewise in a great many scriptures the Bible speaks in this same manner about God, who is God the Father, and the Lord Jesus, the Son of God. For example, it says that God "SENT" His son, not that God became His own son!! The great self confidence that comes from agreeing with the majority brings a great blindness as they read the scriptures with their pre-conceived notions warping what they read. They can read Jesus saying, "...me a man who told you the truth I heard from God" (Jn. 8:40) yet turn right around and believe and teach that Jesus is literally God without noticing anything's wrong!!

If you misunderstand certain scriptures to believe that Jesus is literally God, then you have a concept of a different Jesus as to what was orginally taught, and to what the full summation of the scriptures teach, and that concept of Jesus of a false Jesus will interfere with your salvation. Many try as hard as they can and yet they find that they cannot overcome their favorite sins long term, because their whole foundation is wrong!!  Only the real Jesus can set you free from sinning, and only by our being able to fully identify with him as being a real man in our place can we be saved!! Please notice that only "The man Christ Jesus" can mediate to God for men.  (1 Tim. 2:5), but again, people don't care. Most are quite content in their occasional slavery to their favorite sins. They would rather hope that just confessing to God and trying to repent is good enough, as long as they "believe" in Jesus, according to the false hope of what their pastor has often sold them. Please notice  that it is only through the man, "The man from heaven" that we can rule and reign in life. (1 Cor. 15:47 with Rom 5:17)!! And again, please note that only those who believe and proclaim that Jesus is the Son of, of, of  God who overcome the world, (not those who teach that he is literally God!) 1 Jn. 5:5 "Who is it who overcomes the world? ONLY HE who believes that Jesus is the son of God."

Some people actually have been led to believe that somehow JESUS WAS FULLY GOD AND FULLY MAN AT THE SAME TIME!!!!, not realizing how preposterous and absurd and ridiculous and impossible this total anamoly is!!!! No one seems to have even noticed, but one day many will say, "Oh, yeah, I knew that couldn't be right!!!  So please make sure you have the real Jesus and the real gospel. The Bible says that those who go beyond the orignal gospel ("Jesus of Nazareth, a man..." Acts 2:22) do not have God or His Son (2 Jn 9). Jesus said about himself, "... me a man who told you the truth I heard from God." Jn 8:40  He is the Second Adam, the Last Adam and he has a God. God is Jesus' God still, as he says in Rev 3:12.

Yes, God can still help and bless us in some ways when we naively believe wrongly about Jesus because of our ignorance from being taught falsely, but things will go downhill quickly if we start teaching falsely about God and our Lord Jesus, and arguing against the truth foolishly in the process. We who teach will be held responsible and therefore must recongnize the obvious warning signs if Christ is really not living in us, that we are not ruling and reigning in life, and seek God for the truth that sets us free from sinning instead of hiding and becoming confirmed hypocrites! Any secret sinning or lying or making Satan's wickedness our entertainment are clear indications we are errant and in very great danger, but by that time it is usually too late. Once we have been told the truth and warned we are supposed to love God with all our hearts and study and seek God diligently like the Bereans to find out the truth. IF, after being warned and having evidence given to them to prove there is reason to look more deeply into these things, a sinning teacher goes on to argue against the truth while not fasting and praying and studying the scriptures diligently about these issues, their continued sinning causes them to become more and more self confident in their majority confirmed error, and they become hypocritical heretics without even realizing it!!

Jesus fully represents God and He is the Image of the Invisible God. Jesus is the Epitome of God, filled with the fulness of the Spirit and Essence and nature of God, but that does not mean that Jesus is literally God! God created the world through Jesus, and he existed in the form of God, but he was made to be like his brothers in every way, the bible says. So many have believed and accepted the Catholic doctrine that unless you believe that Jesus is God you will not go to Heaven when you die. THis is a lie found no where in the Bible, not even a hint of this false doctrine. The trinity doctrine and the "Jesus is literally God" doctrine is totally foreign to the Bible, BUT VERY FEW SEEM TO HAVE NOTICED!!  I used to believe and to teach this foolishness, but in seeking God with a very great much prayer and water only fasting God answered my prayers to teach me the truth I kept crying out to learn!

The Bible truth is that Jesus is not literally God, but He is the son of God. God cannot die, God cannot be seen, God is invisible, He is spirit, He is immortal and that means God cannot die. Jesus is said repeatedly to be a man, yet "GOD IS NOT MAN, that he should lie, OR A SON OF MAN, that he should change his mind." Numbers 23:19 "And also the Glory of Israel will not lie... HE IS NOT A MAN, that he should have regret." 1 Samuel 15:29 "... I AM GOD AND NOT A MAN, the Holy One in your midst, and I will not come in wrath." Hosea 11:9 Jesus so wisely said, "YOU ERR BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW THE SCRIPTURES..."

Jesus also warned us to "Watch out lest the light that is in you becomes darkness, how great is that darkness!" The bible clearly says that "ALTHOUGH THERE ARE MANY GODS AND MANY LORDS, yet FOR US THERE IS BUT ONE GOD, THE FATHER, from whom are all things, and for whom we live, AND ONE LORD JESUS CHRIST, THROUGH WHOM are all things, and through whom we live. BUT NOT EVERYONE KNOWS THIS." 1 Cor 8:5-8. And again it very clearly says, "For there is ONE GOD, AND one mediator between God and men, THE MAN Christ Jesus." 1 Tim 2:5 "There is One Lord (Jesus), one faith, one baptism, ONE GOD AND FATHER OF ALL..." Eph 4:4,5

THE ORIGINAL GOSPEL THE FIRST TIME PREACHED AFTER PENTECOST: "JESUS OF NAZARETH, A MAN... Acts 2:22 and God made "THIS (man) JESUS both Lord and Christ" vs 36 (WHY DID MEN CHANGE THE GOSPEL. WE USED TO BELIEVE THAT GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE, SENT HIS SON..., NOW MEN SAY THAT GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE BECAME A MAN AND DIED?!!) JESUS HIMSELF SAID, "Why do you want to kill ME A MAN WHO TOLD YOU THE TRUTH I HEARD FROM GOD?" John 8:40 Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God! God cannot be tempted, yet Jesus was tempted in all ways as we are.

God has never been seen by mortal men, but we have seen His image, His exact representation in His Son Jesus Christ, who is OF God. God says, "I AM NOT A MAN". He never has been a man and never will be, but the Logos OF God, who had existed in the form of God took upon Himself the nature of Adam's seed, and became flesh. God has no God, Jesus prayed to His God and said that God gave Him everything He had. Even after His ascension back to His glory He had with God before creation, in Rev. ch 3 Jesus still calls God the Father, "MY GOD" four times! God is IMMORTAL, HE CANNOT DIE, but Jesus really died for our sins, not a body, but THE MAN CHRIST JESUS, in whom the fulness of God's divine nature dwelled inside. Jesus overcame sin as a man, not as being God.

1 Cor 11:3 says, "Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God." Every man is not Christ, the woman is not man, and Christ is not literally God! "and you belong to Christ; and Christ belongs to God." 1 Cor 3:23 CHRIST BELONGS TO GOD!!! CHRIST IS "OF GOD". The Bible says, "all things are of God" (1 Cor 11:2) ALL THINGS COME FROM GOD!! It doesn't say, CHRIST IS GOD. No, it says that Christ is of God, Christ belongs to God,. It says the same thing in 1 Cor 8:6 "for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things..." We see in Proverbs ch 8 that the Logos, the Wisdom of God and the Power of God was with God during creation, and was birthed before creation. It says that before the world was formed, He was birthed. It says He was with God as His master architect, delighting in God's creation and in men.

Jesus asked, "Who do men say that I am?" They replied, "Some say you are..." (now days we might say, 'some say you are God, some say you are God the Son, the second member of the Blessed Holy Trinity, some say you are God in the flesh) Jesus said, "But who do you say I am?" "And Peter said, 'You are the Christ, the Son OF the Living God', and Jesus said, 'You are blessed Peter, because men didn't reveal that to you, but my Father in Heaven"...and upon this rock I will build my church." We need a revelation from God who Jesus is. Jesus said, "...me a man" who told you the truth I heard from GOD (Jn 8:40) When Jesus says, "Me a Man", I say, "He a Man!". Not the false teachers, they say, "Jesus is God!" John the Baptist said Jesus was a man (Jn 1:30,33). Peter said Jesus was a man (Acts 2:22), Paul said Jesus is a man many times (Acts 17:31 for one). The Bible says JESUS IS NOT A MAN OF THE EARTH, BUT HE IS "THE MAN FROM HEAVEN" (1 Cor 15:47, 49). Here are just some of the verses that say that Jesus was and is a man, and they never say the God-man or any such thing: Jn 1:30, 33, 8:40, Acts 2:22, 17:31, Rom 5:15,5:17, 5:19, 1 Cor. 15:21, 15:45, 15:47, 15:49, 1 Tim 2:5... God was in Christ, and Christ was in God, He is the exact representation of God, the very image of the invisible God, through whom God made the universe.

In John 6:57 Jesus said, "I LIVE BECAUSE OF THE FATHER."!!! That is why God is Jesus' God! GOD THE FATHER IS JESUS' GOD! He still lives because of the Father, as I just wrote, He still calls God, "My God", as we can see five times in the Book of Revelation, long after He ascended back to God's right hand. In John 13:3, Jesus said, "Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God..." We must reconcile all scriptures to be able to correlate to our beliefs, or we will keep having to ignore certain scriptures throughout the Bible, like the "once saved always saved" folks have to do when they read through the whole New Testament. That is a very dangerous way to play with the truth and with our souls.

To put it concisely and succinctly, Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. Jesus is Lord, to the glory of God the Father who is over Jesus and is the very one who put all things in subjection to Jesus. After He has subdued all ememies, then the Son Himself "will be made subject" to God Himself, so that God can again be all in all. Jesus existed with God in the form of God, before the world was created, and through Him all things were created. He is called "God's Servant". He emptied Himself of His glory as the Logos of God and was sent by God and came in the flesh to die for our sins, according to the scriptures. The Second and Last Adam rose from the dead and became a Life Giving Spirit, who ascended higher than the highest Heaven and now fills everything in every way, upholding all things by the word of His power. He is the exact image of the Invisible God, the exact representation of God's being. He is our brother (God isn't our brother) and He calls God the Father "My God" (still does, five times in the book of Revelation). Jesus is the Lamb of God (God is not the Lamb OF God!).

How great is that darkness!

How rightly did Jesus warn, "If the light that is in you is darkness, HOW GREAT IS THAT DARKNESS!!"  It is not very easy to understand how almost the whole of Christianity has erred concerning such an important foundational thing as this unless the Lord opens our eyes to it. When most Christians already have so much trouble overcoming the world and their own evil desires, and are so vulnerable to decption and so ignorant of the full sum of the holy scriptures, the last thing they want to do is to offend the Lord Jesus, upon whom they have set their feeble hope and trust upon. If everyone says that Jesus is literally God, then who are we to even dare to question it? So it has become an almost unspoken false belief that "BELIEVING IN JESUS"  means "BELIEVING THAT JESUS IS LITERALLY GOD".

Since our salvation depends upon our believing right, and we are taught that believing that Jesus is literally God is totally SACROSANCT (such a ultimately sacred and absolutely necessary thing that we must fear God to even get close to violating it) thing that we dare not even get close to questioning it, and since it is such a complicated and multifaceted issue, most don't want to spend the time and effort and mental overload to look into this issue more deeply. Without proper fasting and praying and proper learning of the scriptures, we cannot come to know the real Lord Jesus anyway, it is not an issue of trying hard to "figure it all out"!

The roots of our modern ignorance is in not knowing the scriptures nor God properly, and in most of us wanting to belong to the Temple, to not be labelled by the majority of Christians as being a "cult", or "heretic", and in our spiritual laziness in prayer and in knowing the scriptures (so many think they do when they don't). It also boils down to what most heresies do: the folly of believing that a few combined scriptures we have been taught can somehow trump over the rest of the other scriptures. As if, for example, John 1:1 is more inspired than 1 Cor 8:6 or 1 Tim 2:5! (the scriptures properly translated and understood never contradict each other!) We should all want to honor and glorify the Lord Jesus as we honor God, as he is perfectly one with God and God's perfect representation to all. But just as the apostle Paul predicted by the Spirit, evil men crept into the church and took over the church, and at the Council of Nicea, with the Roman Emperor Constantine leading (isn't that interesting), these compromised men fell for this new and false doctrine after the two months of being wined and dined by the Emperor in Rome. The man called St. Nicholas reportedly literally beat up a true (but greatly villianized) man of God named Arius, and along with a warped man named "Athenasius" (glorified by the Catholic Church but rejected by the saints about 6 times from being Constantine's appointed bishop over the area of Africa where Arius was from) they finally accepted and agreed as doctrine that Jesus is "Very God from Very God". Afterwards the trinity doctrine had to be formulated by men in order to make this heresy compatible with the clear truth that "There is one God", God the Father, found throughout the scriptures.

If someone comes along and is obviously flattering Jesus by teaching that Jesus is GREATER THAN GOD, does this claim really honor Jesus???  Of course not, since it is not true. IN THE SAME WAY SO MANY HAVE FALLEN FOR THE FALSE ASSERTION THAT JESUS IS LITERALLY GOD AND COMPLETELY EQUAL WITH GOD ("co-equal with the Father") INSTEAD OF OBEYING JESUS AS LORD. They base their whole convoluted thinking about the subject upon the ridiculous notion that somehow God can be "FULLY GOD AND FULLY MAN AT THE SAME TIME"!!!!  BUT HOW CAN GOD HAVE A GOD???? AND WHY DOES GOD SAY MORE THAN ONCE IN THE SCRIPTURES, "I AM NOT A MAN!"???  AND HOW CAN GOD PRAY TO HIS GOD, HOW CAN GOD BE TEMPTED WHEN THE BIBLE SAYS THAT GOD CANNOT BE TEMPTED, HOW CAN GOD BE SEEN WHEN THE BIBLE SAYS HE IS INVISIBLE AND THAT NO MAN HAS EVER NOR CAN POSSIBLE ACTUALLY SEE HIM, HOW CAN GOD BE FLESH AND BLOOD WHEN THE BIBLE SAYS THAT "GOD IS SPIRIT", AND HOW CAN GOD ACTUALLY DIE WHEN THE BIBLE IS CLEAR THAT GOD IS IMMORTAL???

The extremely interesting and yet very sad fact is that John 1:1 has been mistranslated, by the ruling trinitarian translators, just enough so that this error can seem 'oh so right!'. All it takes is for someone with a little real wisdom to look at the context to see there must be something askew here: THE WORD IS SAID TO HAVE BEEN "WITH GOD". The Word was with God, he cannot therefore be the same God he was with!!!  Yet no one seems to want to notice or care to pray and to look into it deep enough to find out THE answer.  My Father God answered my prayers through the Lord Jesus to let me learn that in cases like this, in koine Greek (what the New Testament was originally written in) grammar, where the noun "theos" is used with and then without the definite article in the same context, then the rule is (PLEASE GET THIS): THE CONTEXT MUST DETERMINE WHETHER THE NOUN IS AGAIN BEING USED AS A DEFINITE NOUN OR IF IT IS EXPRESSING THE QUALITY, KIND, CHARACTER OR NATURE OF THE NOUN. In this case the context that I just mentioned, the fact that the Word OF God had just been said to have been with "THE GOD", therefore the Word, this Logos OF God cannot possibly also at the same time BE THE SAME GOD WITH WHOM HE HAD JUST BEEN SAID TO HAVE BEEN WITH!! Therefore when it says, "...and the Word was theos" (there is no definite article with this) it can only mean that the Word was God-like in character and nature, that the Word, whom the bible also says "existed in the form of God" (Phillipians 2:6), that the Word was "God-like in character, nature and kind". BUT OF COURSE HE WAS STILL "OF GOD", "THE WORD OF GOD" and not literally God. The Word was with God and the Word was just like God in every possible way, but with God as being his God and Father. We see that confirmed many hundreds of times as we go on reading the book of John and the New Testament.

So to complicate things, this Logos OF God who has emptied himself (NOT OF HIS SO CALLED DEITY BECAUSE GOD WILL ALWAYS CONTINUE TO BE GOD AND GOD WILL NEVER BE A REAL HUMAN OF FLESH WHO HAS A GOD) of his God given glory with God (all his wonderful glorious state of living as being with and in the bosom of God, the Father) and became a real man of flesh like us in every possible way yet without sin (Heb 2:17), this Second (1 Cor 15:47) and Last (1 Cor 15:45) Adam, in order to identify completely with us so we can be like him and one with him forever, this "man Christ Jesus", being like God in every possible way now, is actually called "theos" (which means "God" and can mean "magistrate ruling for God" -look it up in your Strong's concordance) by THE God, God the Father, in Heb 1:8. This statement is not made about Christ pertaining to when he was a baby in the manger (for it says, "THY THRONE, O THEOS...", for example. Jesus is said to be "theos" before becoming human ("and the word was theos"and after ascending back to his God given throne with God the Father)

Many statements quoted from the Old Testament are specific and only relative to the context or time or matter the Spirit of God is addressing at that time (for example if someone misunderstood Jesus' command to his discples to wait in Jerusalem until they received the gift of the Holy Spirit as meaning that all of Christ's future disciples must do the same- well, that's what Jesus said!). This quote in Heb 1:8 is spoken by God pertaining to Christ after his resurrection, when he is exalted to the highest place at God's right hand, sitting on God's throne, as he is now, "all in all", "sustaining the whole universe by the world of his power", "in him all things holding together". He is the head of all government and authority as God's appointed Lord, yes this exalted man Christ Jesus (Acts 2:22 with vs 36) is Lord and like God in every possible way, ruling as Lord and "all, and in all", yet at the end THE God, God the Father, will again become "all in all" (1 Cor 15:28). God calls his son "theos" here, yet not at all meaning that Jesus is literally THE God who has no God, or that Jesus was literally God when he was a man of flesh on Earth, but yes, in a way, "God the new man, the most highly exalted human son who is perfectly united with God, filled with God, ruling as God, and representing God", whose God and Father and source of being is THE God, God the Father.

(see page "ORIGEN'S EXPLANATION OF WHO JESUS WAS AND IS").

Please let's investigate further.

If other mere mortal men, by reason of their agency of being representatives of God invested with His power and authority, were called God by God in the holy scriptures (and concerning this very fact Jesus for good reason reminds us that "the scriptures cannot be broken"- John 10:35 and Ps 82:6- then why can't Jesus, who is the one whom God birthed and set apart as His very own son, who is the exact visible image and representation of the Invisible God be called "theos which means "God" and can mean "magistrate ruling for God-look it up in your Strong's concordance).

We can see right after he is called God in Heb 1:8 it says that God is his God: ("...therefore God, even THY GOD has anointed you..." Heb. 1:9). We should already know that God Himself has no God, so there has to be an explanation, and there is, but IT BEHOOVES US GREATLY TO LEARN THESE DISTINCTIONS ABOUT WHO GOD IS AND WHO EXACTLY JESUS IS. BUT WE MUST PRAY FOR ILLUMINATION, FOR THESE THINGS ARE NOT AUTOMATICALLY MADE OBVIOUS EVEN TO THE MOST CHOSEN AND CALLED OF DISCIPLES. Jesus ASKED ALL OF HIS DICIPLES WHO HE REALLY WAS when Peter only answered correctly: "You are the Christ, the son OF God!". Jesus acknowledged Peter was blessed to know this and said to him, "flesh and blood did not reveal this to you , but my Father in Heaven (revealed to you who I really am), and upon THIS ROCK I will build my church". We must pray and seek God for him to reveal Jesus to us. Jesus said only the Father knows him.

God knew that the majority of believers would fall for this error, and yet He has deliberately allowed for this great misunderstanding to develop, for one reason in order that those who are approved may experience the misunderstanding and false accusations and share in Christ's sufferings even from his own brothers, and so that we who become approved become manifest to the other saints (1 Cor 11:19). The totally unreasonable nature of the so called trinity doctrine, and the complete lack of any biblical definition of this false doctrine, and the many clear scriptures that prove that Jesus cannot possibly literally be God demonstrates how easy it is for us to become deceived, especially when it comes to a "must believe to be in the club" doctrine that all the majority zealously agrees on.

The rest of this writing will be devoted to explaining the further greatly misunderstood complication of this issue that is very understandable to those who are only looking from an unspiritual mindset, which mindset is extremely much more common among modern Christians than they themselves recognize and imagine.  Thomas is recorded as having said to Jesus, "My Lord and my God!". A great many of the misunderstandings in this matter come from people looking at things only in the natural, like the Pharisees and often even Jesus' disciples misunderstood when Jesus would speak of "water", "bread", or "eating his flesh and blood". Most do not understand the great perfect oneness and unity between God and the Lord Jesus. Most of us do not properly understand the concept of "Agency" (SEE ARTICLE ON THE VITAL IMPORTANCE OF UNDSTANDING THE JEWISH CONCEPT CALLED "AGENCY") as the Jews did in relation to God and His chosen representatives, and we do not understand properly Christ being the exact representation and image of the Invisible God personified, in whom the fulness of God's divine nature dwells bodily.

Contrary to what most believe, the clear truth is that Thomas was not saying that Jesus was his God. He was glorifying his Lord, Jesus, AND his God, God the Father who he finally realized was in Jesus and seen in Jesus and prayed to through Jesus, just as Jesus had told Philip and him as recorded in John ch 14. Please check it out and you will see:  Jesus said, "‘If you really have known me, you will know my Father as well.  From now on, you do know Him and have seen Him.  Philip said, Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.  Jesus answered, Dont you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time?  Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.  How can you say, "Show us the Father."  DONT YOU BELIEVE THAT I AM IN THE FATHER, AND THAT THE FATHER IS IN ME?  The words I say to you are not from myself.  Rather, IT IS THE FATHER, LIVING IN ME, WHO IS DOING HIS WORK.  BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY THAT I AM IN THE FATHER AND THE FATHER IS IN ME, or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves.  I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing.  He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father"’ (Jn.14:7-12).

HERE WAS A PRIME OPPORTUNITY FOR JESUS TO SAY THAT HE WAS GOD IN THE FLESH, IN A BODY, if that were true.  But He instead says that THEY SHOULD BELIEVE THAT GOD IS LIVING IN HIM, THE MAN, NOT JUST A BODY.

It can be easily understood that Jesus is not saying that the reason we see the Father when we see Him is because He is the Father in a body.  He instead is saying that He is in the Father, and the Father is living in Him, the man Jesus, this complete person who Scripture proves to be Gods Son.  This is a great vantage point for us all to notice that Jesus doesnt say,  "Don't you understand that I am God inside this body?" Notice that Thomas was there hearing Jesus say, "The Father is living in me..." (Jn 14:5) That'll be very important for us to understand, "My Lord and my God."

Jesus always made the clear distinction between Himself and God, not just between Himself and the Father, and He does so again here.  He says that His words are not His own words, but the Fathers, whom Jesus said is "living in ME".  God fully lives in Jesus by His Spirit, "and in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit." (Eph.2:22).  Long after Jesus told His disciples that anyone who had seen Him had seen the Father, the apostle John writes by the Spirit, "NO ONE HAS EVER SEEN GOD..." (1Jn.4:12), and, "NO ONE HAS SEEN GOD AT ANY TIME, the only begotten Son, who is the closest to the Father, HE HAS DECLARED HIM" (Jn.1:18).  They had seen the very essence of Gods person in Christ, but not God's unapproachable, invisible deity.  If more people really believed Jesus when He said, "Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me", we would hear more people teaching that truth about Jesus instead of the unscriptural teaching we hear so often.  When we deviate "beyond what is written" to try to explain God, we can and often do get into serious error very easily.

The Bible outlines a very definite conception of God, and repeatedly the light it sheds gives the honest lover of truth no other option than to realize that Jesus is not literally God.  In another such passage the Bible says, "...until the appearing of OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, which GOD WILL BRING ABOUT IN HIS OWN time, GOD, THE BLESSED AND ONLY RULER, THE KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS, WHO ALONE IS IMMORTAL AND WHO LIVES IN UNAPPROACHABLE LIGHT, WHOM NO ONE HAS SEEN OR CAN SEE" (1Tim.6:14-16).  Again, how can anyone insist that Jesus is 'fully God' in such light?  As we walk in the light God gives us through Christs illumination, we can have true fellowship with one another, and be cleansed from all sin by the blood of Gods Son (1Jn.1:7).  Yes, "King of kings and Lord of Lords" is first and foremost the title that applies to God, and then respectively also to Christ.  Yet keep in mind, 1 Cor. 15:27 proves that this, of course, does not mean that Jesus is God's King and Lord.

THE FULLNESS OF GODS "DIVINITY" (not the ambiguous and artificially manufactured word, Godhead, that so many try to equate with the Trinity) LIVES IN CHRIST BODILY (Col.2:9).  Why then is it so unbelievable, unless we insist on grasping at the last straws, that Thomas received this same revelation from God that Jesus had earlier tried to explain to Philip, Thomas and the rest (just cited above from John chapter fourteen), that GOD WAS LIVING IN HIM?  When Thomas said, "My Lord, and my God! " (Jn.20:28), he was addressing the Lord Jesus, AND then God the Father, who he finally realized was in and revealing Himself through Jesus.  He was not saying that Jesus was his God (FOR THAT WOULD CONTRADICT AND BREAK SCRIPTURE - 1 Cor. 8:6 and very many others), and Jesus was not saying, "Oh, you finally believe that Im your God", something He never claimed.  He had always taught that the Father was our one and only true God (Jn.17:3), and that He was our Lord (Jn.13:13).  The fact that God was in Christ meant that Thomas could say to Jesus, "My Lord!" and in the same breath address God through Christ, just as we now do in prayer through our High Priest and mediator.

Jesus had already said, "I AM NOT ALONE.  I AND THE ONE HAVING SENT ME" (lit.GreekJn.8:16), and, "THE ONE WHO SENT ME IS WITH ME; HE HAS NOT LEFT ME ALONE..." (Jn.8:29).  What Thomas believed about Jesus is summed up three verses AFTER his easily misunderstood exclamation, and it is the same thing that the rest of the Scriptures teach:  "THESE ARE WRITTEN THAT YOU MAY BELIEVE THAT JESUS IS THE MESSIAH, THE SON OF GOD…" (Jn.20:31).  The sum of Johns writings say that Jesus is Gods Son, see First John chapter five. WE SHOULD ALREADY KNOW THAT "FOR US (my God) THERE IS BUT ONE GOD, THE FATHER, AND THAT (FOR US) THERE IS BUT ONE LORD (my Lord), JESUS CHRIST (1Cor.8:6).  If we had our foundational knowledge about God and Jesus right we would not be so easily deceived by the crowd's commonly agreed upon errors. NOTICE THOMAS DID NOT SAY, "My Lord and God", BUT HE SAID, "My Lord AND My God!"   WE SEE THE SAME AND throughout the Scriptures, and the Holy Spirit ALWAYS SEPARATES the clearly distinct personages of (THE) GOD AND THE LORD JESUS.  "Grace and peace to you from GOD our Father AND the LORD Jesus Christ" (2Cor.1:2).  Again, "...sent by JESUS CHRIST AND GOD The Father" (Gal.1:1).  And again, "...God our Father AND the Lord Jesus Christ." (Eph.1:2).  One more: "Our fellowship is with the Father AND with His Son, Jesus Christ" (Jn.1:3).  You will also find the same AND distinguishing God the Father from the Lord Jesus in very many other places in all the Bible, it is always God and the Lord Jesus, just like in the beginning: (1Cor.1:3, Phil.1:2, Col.1:2, 2Th.1:2, 1Tim.1:2, 2Tim.1:2, Phile.3,etc.).  The Bible is clear throughout the Old Testament, and confirmed throughout the New Testament, that "...GOD IS ONE" PERSON (Gal.3:20, Eph.4:6, 1Cor.8:6).  If we understand Thomas words in the light of all the Bible says, we will realize that he was not establishing a new doctrine that everyone else ignored.

The way Israel was worshipping before their God and their Lord the King in 1 Chronicles 29:20 is also a perfect example of what Thomas did when he addressed Jesus as his Lord, "AND addressed his God who was very present (Ac.17:27, Jn.8:16) in Jesus, as his God.  SOMEONE WHO WAS WATCHING ISRAEL WORSHIPPING GOD AND THE KING WOULD HAVE ONLY SEEN ALL ISRAEL BOWING BEFORE KING DAVID, JUST AS WE ONLY SEE THOMAS SPEAKING TO JESUS.  THEY WOULD HAVE SEEN AND HEARD WHAT SO CLEARLY SEEMED LIKE ALL ISRAEL BLESSING DAVID AS BEING GOD WHILE BOWING BEFORE HIM IN UNRESTRAINED WORSHIP.  ANY UNINFORMED SPECTATOR WOULD HAVE EASILY BECOME CERTAIN THAT THE JEWS WERE WORSHIPPING AND HERALDING KING DAVID AS GOD, AND WOULD HAVE JUST AS EASILY ASSUMED THAT DAVID WAS SURELY ACCEPTING WORSHIP AND ACCOLADES AS BEING GOD HIMSELF.  The hypothetical spectator in this case would have been just as wrong as anyone who assumes that Thomas was later worshipping Jesus or proclaiming Jesus AS being his God.  In 1 Samuel 20:41, David falls on his knees and bows with his face to the ground three times before Jonathan, King Sauls son!  He was not worshipping Jonathan as being God, nor did the number three times indicate any Trinitarian concept.

When Thomas, remembering Jesus' words he heard when with Philip, "the Father is living in me", (he was there-Jn 14:5) believed who Jesus really was, and said, "My Lord!, AND My God!" (Jn.20:28-proper punctuation is always a matter of proper interpretation and is not supplied nor always obvious in the Hebrew and Greek texts), that word "AND" is the same word that many scriptures use to distinguish between God and the Lord Jesus (1Chr.29:20, Rom.1:7, 1Cor.1:3, 2Cor.1:2, Gal.1:3, Eph.1:2, Phil.1:2, etc.).  From what Jesus had said to him, and maybe from feeling Jesus, Thomas had realized that Jesus still had a body of flesh and bones, which a spirit doesnt have (Lk.24:39).  He most certainly did not mistake Jesus for being God, for He had been consistently taught correctly about God and Jesus by Jesus Himself, for example that, "God is Spirit..." (Jn.4:24), and that God is the Father who was in heaven (Mt.16:17,etc.).  Thomas also had the obvious confirmed repeatedly from Jesus Himself, that Jesus was a real and complete man.  Philip had failed to recognize who Christ was, and did not recognize God as being in Christ, but Thomas by revelation from the Father now had.  As a Jew he knew very well that God is not a man!  "I AM GOD, AND NOT MAN" (Hos.11:9).

We cannot continue to believe unbiblical doctrines built from extracted verses independent from the whole of Scripture.  Three verses after Thomas' famous statement, the Bible sums up what Thomas and the rest of the apostles believed about Jesus even while Thomas spoke those words.  Three verses after Thomas recorded statement, "My Lord, and my God", it says, "THESE THINGS ARE WRITTEN SO THAT YOU MAY BELIEVE THAT JESUS IS THE CHRIST, THE SON OF GOD, AND THAT BY BELIEVING (THESE THINGS) YOU MAY HAVE LIFE" (Jn.20:31).  "These things" that were written to help us to believe that Jesus is Gods Son included Thomas words three verses prior.

Please notice that last major point. It says in 1 Chron 29:20 that all Israel worshiped King David while they were worshiping the LORD. Be sure they didn't think David was God when they were bowing before him and doing obeisance to him (no one in their right mind thought Jesus was literally God!). But God didn't correct them for worshiping a man. The Amplified Bible states, "(as His earthly representative)" after the words, "they worshiped the LORD and the king..." This event set a precedent and therefore Jesus accepted worship from those who were really worshiping God as being God when they worshiped him as being the Messiah, God's son, the king of Israel, God's perfect earthly representative. When Thomas said, "my Lord and my God", he was not contradicting the clear bible truth of 1 Cor 8:5-7: "For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many "gods" and many "lords"), 6 yet FOR US THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD, THE FATHER, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live."

So we can see that yes, for Thomas, there is only one God, the Father. God is our source and through Jesus His son. God created us and saved us through Jesus. Thomas did not have to raise his head and look to Heaven when he said, "...and my God!" He had finally received the revelation that Jesus had explained to Philip and all who were there that God was in him and he was in God. 1 Cor 8:7 "But not everyone possesses this knowledge." (NOT EVERYONE KNOWS THIS!!)

The utterly amazing phenomenon called "Cognitive Dissonance"!!

About the original gospel. Most don't realize that there is a very common false Jesus and a very different false gospel that yes, they have believed. Most always automatically think that those who are wrong are always the other guy, never me. The hypocrites are always someone else, never "me"!But the Bible clearly warns that there is "A DIFFERENT JESUS" and "A DIFFERENT GOSPEL WHICH IS REALLY NO GOOD NEWS AT ALL" (because this false gospel never fully sets anyone free from slavery to their secret sins)."For if someone comes to you and preaches ANOTHER JESUS other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the Spirit you received, or a different Gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough." 2 Cor 11:4 "I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different Gospel" Gal. 1:6,7

Don't automatically assume that you believed the correct Gospel at first, or that you are not believing in a different Gospel or another Jesus yourself. BE VERY CAREFUL YOU DO NOT BECOME ANOTHER VICTIM OF CONGNITIVE DISSONANCE!! (Mental conflict that occurs when beliefs or assumptions are contradicted by new information). The concept was introduced by the psychologist Leon Festinger (1919–89) in the late 1950s. He and later researchers showed that, when confronted with challenging new information, most people seek to preserve their current understanding by rejecting, explaining away, or avoiding the new information or by convincing themselves that no conflict really exists.

Please examine the facts in the light of the clear Truth. Look at the differences between the original gospel and the false modern gospel:

  • Original gospel: "...how God annointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because GOD WAS WITH HIM." Acts 10:38

vs

Modern false gospel: "How God became a man and went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the Devil, because he was God."!!!???

  • Original Gospel: "For God so loved the world that HE GAVE HIS ONE AND ONLY SON, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16

vs

Modern false gospel: "For God so loved the world that he became a man and died, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."!!!???

  • Original gospel: “Fellow Israelites, listen to this: JESUS OF NAZARETH WAS A MAN approved by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know. THIS MAN was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men,d put him to death by nailing him to the cross. But God raised him from the dead...Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear...“Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: GOD HAS MADE THIS (MAN) JESUS, whom you crucified, BOTH LORD AND MESSIAH.” Acts 2:22-36

vs

Modern false gospel: "Fellow Israelites, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was God..."!!!???

  • Original gospel: What Jesus said about himself- "..ME A MAN who told you the truth I heard from God." Jn. 8:40

vs

Modern false gospel: "...I am God!"!!!??? What John the Baptist taught about Jesus: "This is the one I meant when I said, 'A MAN who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.'" Jn. 1:30......"Jesus is God." !!!???

  • What the apostle Paul, by the Holy Spirit, taught about Jesus: "yet for us there is ONLY ONE GOD, THE FATHER, from whom all things came and for whom we live; AND THERE IS ONLY ONE LORD, JESUS CHRIST, through whom all things came and through whom we live. BUT NOT EVERYONE KNOWS THIS" 1 Cor 8:5-7

vs

..."For there is only one God, the Trinity... and there is only one Lord, Jesus Christ, who is also God too but he is God the Son..." !!???

  • Apostolic true gospel from the apostle Paul: "For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, THE MAN CHRIST JESUS..." 1 Tim 2:5

vs

Modern false gospel: For there is one God, the trinity, and one mediator between God and men, the God-man Christ Jesus who is God the Son, the second member of the Blessed Holy Trinity." !!!???

  • True gospel, what Jesus says about his relation to God: "The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of MY GOD. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of MY GOD and the name of the city of MY GOD, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from MY GOD; and I will also write on them my new name." Rev 3:12

vs

Modern false gospel: "Jesus is God!" (we know that God has no God!)

  • True gospel: "...we have one (a High Priest) who has been tempted in every way, just as we are--yet he did not sin." Heb 4:15 and, "...God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone" James 1:13

vs

Modern false gospel: "Jesus didn't sin because he was God and therefore he couldn't sin, but God knows we are only human sinners and therefore we have to keep sinning. But if we keep believing in Jesus and confessing our sins and repenting of our sins as we keep on deliberately sinning we will still be saved."
