I just want to say first that I got none of my comments from something I looked up on the Net. We can learn much from studying the Torah and the Old Testament writings in the light of Christ in us, and from a group with teachings like I see on 'The Restoration of the Torah' ministry. My desire is not to throw the proverbial baby out with the bathwater, but to give an overview for anyone concerned to consider. We could also learn much from going to a Jewish synagouge and listening to some of the chief Rabbis, or even to a legalistic Christian church like the Seventh Day Adventists, where you will not find much of the grace and Spirit of God and of Christ, but I don't advocate that either.

I would like to say that there is a great danger, however, in the constant divisions in the Body of Christ of denominations that often spring from our subconscious desire to be unique and distinguished as being the true church with the true teaching that demonstrates that we really are the real church. The Bible says that the Torah (Law) came through Moses, but JESUS WAS CLEARLY ESTABLISHED AS BEING ABOVE THE TORAH: but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. In the very next verse (Jn 1:18) it says that Jesus revealed God to us. JESUS ALSO SAID, 'THE TORAH SAID SUCH AND SUCH, BUT I SAY..." JESUS HAS BEEN REVEALED TO BE THE SUPREME FOCUS AND OBJECT OF OUR LEARNING AND STUDY. IN CHRIST WE LEARN THE BALANCE OF ALL THINGS, AND THE TORAH COMES INTO FOCUS THROUGH JESUS AND PAUL'S TEACHINGS, NOT VICE VERSA AS IS HERE ADVOCATED.

 Because of the great overemphasis on grace as a licence to sin, and the antinomianism that is a great part of it, this is a not altogether shocking swing to the other extreme. This whole Torah emphasis and focus is not according to the focus of the grace and truth of Christ. The believers who insist that the Gentile believers must obey the Torah are not new, they were the ones who were the Judaeizers who Paul said he wished that they would emasculate themselves. Paul warned us not to go back to the Torah as any kind of foundation and emphasis. He said that would be falling away from grace, that God's grace would be of no effect to you. I don't even want to get close, I will cling to Christ, He is the embodyment of the realities of the Law, I don't need the kindergarten and the types and shadows, I have found who the Law and the Prophets have spoken of, I will follow Him and learn from Him how to obey God's commands and the righteous spiritual essence of the Torah. This re emphasis on Christians obeying the Torah is the first step in another current Jewish plan to build a Christian religion based on the Torah. They never start out full throttle, but just like TV started out with Father knows best and Leave it to beaver, this Torah gospel is masked in much truth, yet it seems like it is another very dangerous division in the Body of Christ. We will see if it is truly based on the real Lord Jesus and His truth. If ministries like this were given full sway, it wouldn't surprise me if it would be long before Christians would have to submit to enforced mandatory laws to physically circumcise their babies, keep the Sabbath days free from any work and follow the feasts and holy days.

WE NEED FIRST AND FOREMOST A RESTORATION OF THE REVELATION OF THE REAL LORD YESHUA MESSIAH, AS JESUS TOLD PETER (Matthew 16:17), BY A REVELATION FROM GOD THE FATHER BY THE HOLY SPIRIT, NOT A "RESTORATION OF THE TORAH". JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD, THE LORD YESHUA, IS OUR FIRM FOUNDATION HIMSELF, NOT THE TORAH. THE TORAH WAS THE GREAT SCHOOLMASTER TO LEAD US TO THE FOCUS, THE GREAT OBJECT, THE GREAT MESSIAH, YESHUA. ONE OF THE MAIN GOALS OF THE REAL CHURCH IS: "until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." Eph 4:13

THAT RIGHT THERE IS ENOUGH FOR US TO SEE THE GREAT DANGER HERE. THEY ARE NOT LIFTING UP MESSIAH PRIMARILY, BUT FIRST THE TORAH, THEN MESSIAH. THEY ARE NOT PRIMARILY STUDYING THE APOSTLE'S TEACHING, BUT THE TORAH. THEY ARE NOT POINTING TO CHRIST'S TEACHINGS AND TO THE APOSTLES' TEACHINGS AS CHRIST'S EXTENSION AND REPRESENTATIVES AS THE FOUNDATIONAL DOCUMENTS THAT INSTRUCT US HOW TO WALK OUT OUR FAITH. GALATIANS 2:19: "

For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God."  ROMANS 7:4: " 4Therefore, my brethren, you also were (C)made to die (D)to the Law (E)through the body of Christ, so that you might be joined to another, to Him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God."  TRUE BELIEVERS IN YESHUA HAVE DIED TO THE TORAH!!!!!

WE MUST BUILD ON CHRIST, OUR ONLY FOUNDATION AND ROCK, IN OUR BIBLE STUDY AND IN EVERY ASPECT OF OUR LIVES. WE MUST INSTEAD LEARN TO UNDERSTAND THE TORAH FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE NEW TESTAMENT. THE HOLY SPIRIT IS THE ONE WHO LEADS US INTO ALL TRUTH, NOT THEMATIC ANALYSIS OF THE TORAH! OUR PRIMARY GOAL IS TO TEACH CHRIST, AND ALL ASPECTS OF CHRIST AND THE KINGDOM OF GOD, INLUDING HOW TO PROPERLY OBEY GOD'S COMMANDS BY FAITH IN YESHUA. "we devote a large amount of time and energy to providing a firm foundation on Messianic prophecy. THE BIBLE SAYS THAT THE FIRST CHURCH "WITH GREAT POWER THE APOSTLES CONTINUED TO TESTIFY TO THE RESURRECTION OF THE LORD JESUS, AND MUCH GRACE WAS UPON THEM ALL." IT DOESN'T SAY THAT THEY WENT AROUND TEACHING THE TORAH WITH POWER, AND TESTIFYING ABOUT THE MESSIAH. IT DOESN'T SAY THAT THEY ALL GOT TOGETHER DAILY TO STUDY THE TORAH, THE FIRST FIVE BOOKS OF MOSES, AS THEY ARE CALLED. THE PRIMARY THING THE BIBLE SAYS THE APOSTOLIC CHRISTIAN CHURCH DID WAS TO STUDY THE APOSTLE'S TEACHINGS.

THE BIBLE SAYS: "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer" Acts 2:42 GREAT GRACE WAS UPON THEM ALL WHEN THEY PREACHED CHRIST AND HIS RESURRECTION FROM THE DEAD. AND LIKE THE EARLY CHURCH, WE NEED TO DEVOTE OURSELVES TO THE APOSTLE'S DOCTRINE FROM HIS APOSTLES, SO WE CAN LEAVE EVEN THESE ELEMENTARY TEACHINGS ABOUT THE DOCTRINES OF CHRIST TO GO ON INTO MATURITY. "THEREFORE LET US LEAVE THE ELEMENTARY TEACHINGS ABOUT CHRIST AND GO ON TO MATURITY, NOT LAYING AGAIN THE FOUNDATION OF...(THE TORAH ISN'T EVEN MENTIONED AS PART OF THE FOUNDATION TEACHINGS CONNECTED TO THE TEACHINGS OF CHRIST!)" Heb. 6:1

"Prophecy is one of the greatest ways of determining who is the real God of the universe." GOD HAS REVEALED HIMSELF IN THESE LAST DAYS TO US BY SPEAKING TO US THROUGH HIS SON, YESHUA THE MESSIAH. LEARNING OF CHRIST AND ABOUT CHRIST AND FROM THE LORD ABOUT HIMSELF AND ABOUT HIS GOD AND FATHER IS BY FAR THE GREATEST WAY OF DETERMINING WHO IS THE REAL GOD OF THE UNIVERSE. AND ONCE WE HAVE DETERMINED WHO GOD IS, WE SHOULD DO WHAT HE SAYS. YOU DON'T STUDY ENGINEERING AND AERONAUTICS AND PROPULSION FOR CENTURIES TO FINALLY BUILD A SPACE SHUTTLE AND THEN ONCE IT IS IN THE AIR GATHER EVERYONE TOGETHER TO STUDY THE FOUNDATIONS OF AERONAUTICS AGAIN! IT IS TIME FOR US TO KNOW AND FOLLOW AND SERVE CHRIST JESUS HIMSELF, NOT FOCUS ON THE TORAH! THE HOLY SPIRIT'S FOCUS IS NOT THE TORAH, BUT CHRIST HIMSELF. THESE FOLKS WILL SAY THAT THEY ARE TEACHING THE EMPHASIS ON MESSIAH, BUT THAT IS NOT TRUE, THEIR EMPHASIS IS CLEARLY ON THE TORAH, AND IT IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS EMPHASIS.

"Isaiah 46:10 basically states that if you want to know Who is the One and Only True God, you simply need to determine which god has foretold the events of human history before they actually took place! After all, if a god is God, he would have to be all-powerful and all-knowledgeable, right?

So the test is easy. Show me the god who, through His sovereign foreknowledge, has declared the events of human history BEFORE they occurred and I'll show you the One and Only True God, because only an all-powerful, all-knowledgeable Sovereign could do this."

WE WHO ALREADY KNOW THAT THE ONLY TRUE GOD IS THE GOD AND FATHER OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST NEED TO PRIMARILY LOOK UNTO JESUS, THE AUTHOR AND FINISHER OF OUR FAITH, AND NOT TO BE DISTRACTED BY GOING BACK TO THAT WHICH LED US TO HIM. TO SAY THAT WE MUST GO AND STUDY THE PROPHECIES OF THE GOD WHO FORETELLS THE FUTURE TO KNOW THAT THIS IS THE TRUE GOD AND IN ORDER TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THIS GOD WOULD BE THE SAME AS USING A SCRIPTURE THAT TELLS US THAT THE TRUE GOD HAS CREATED ALL THINGS TO INSIST THAT WE MUST BUILD A NEW DENOMINATION THAT DEVOTES EXTRA FOCUS ON STUDYING CREATION TO FIND OUT WHO THE TRUE GOD REALLY IS. THESE THINGS ARE TRUE IF YOU ARE ON A SEARCH TO FIND THE ONLY TRUE GOD, BUT ONCE YOU FIND HIM YOU MUST FOLLOW MESSIAH HIMSELF AND DON'T GO BACK TO FOLLOWING THE TORAH!! GOD HAS REVEALED HIMSELF THROUGH HIS SON JESUS, NOT THROUGH THE TORAH. JESUS DIDN'T SAY, "FOLLOW TORAH!"  HE SAID, “FOLLOW ME!” JESUS DIDN'T SET HIS DISCIPLES UP DAILY FOR TORAH SCHOOL. HE DID NOT SEND THE HOLY SPIRIT TO REVEAL THE FOUNDATION OF THE TORAH TO US.

WE ARE ABLE TO PULL TREASURES OUT OF THE OLD TESTAMENT AND THE TORAH TO LEARN INSIGHTS AND WONDERFUL PERSPECTIVES CONCERNING THE LORD, BUT THE NEW TESTAMENT SCRIPTURES ARE ABOUT WHAT THE LORD USED PAUL AND THE OTHER APOSTLE'S TO PREACH AND TEACH THAT PRIMARILY FOCUS ON HIM NOW THAT HE HAS COME AND REVEALED HIMSELF TO US AND NOW THAT THE HOLY SPIRIT HAS COME TO ENLIGHTEN OUR HEARTS ACCORDING TO THE NEW TESTAMENT GOSPEL AND APOSTLE'S DOCTRINE. THE CHURCH INSTEAD OF AGREEING TO THOSE WHO INSISTED UPON THIS DECIDED THAT THERE SHOULD BE FOUR RULES DELIVERED TO THE GENTILE BELIEVERS TO BE OBEYED. IF THEY ABSTAINED FROM THOSE FOUR THEY WOULD DO WELL.

IT WAS DECIDED THAT THE GENTILE BELIEVERS WOULD NOT BE COMMANDED TO OBEY THE TORAH!! "5 Then some of the believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees stood up and said, “The Gentiles must be circumcised and required to keep the law of Moses (THE TORAH). 6 The apostles and elders met to consider this question. 7 After much discussion, Peter got up and addressed them: “Brothers, you know that some time ago God made a choice among you that the Gentiles might hear from my lips the message of the gospel and believe. 8 God, who knows the heart, showed that he accepted them by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as he did to us. 9 He did not discriminate between us and them, for he purified their hearts by faith. 10 Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of Gentiles a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors have been able to bear? 11 No! We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are...”

AND THEIR DECISION: "28... It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to burden you with anything beyond the following requirements: 29 You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things. THIS DECISION DID NOT JUSTIFY CHRISTIANS NOT STUDYING THE VAST TREASURES OF CHRIST IN THE OLD TESTAMENT, OR THE GREAT THROWING OFF OF OUR JEWISH HEBREW ROOTS FROM CHRISTIANITY, OR OUR CURRENT IGNORANCE ABOUT THE MANY WONDERFUL LESSONS OF THE REAL MEANINGS OF THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS, THE TEMPLE WORSHIP AND THE FEASTS AND HISTORY, AND HOW CHRIST IS TAUGHT AND TYPIFIED IN SO MANY DIFFERENT ASPECTS. LET US NOT GO TO ONE EXTREME OR THE OTHER. OUR APOSTLE PAUL WAS TAUGHT BY THE LORD THE BALANCE BETWEEN THE TWO. HE IS THE ONE WHO REBUKED PETER BY TELLING PETER THAT HE WAS LIVING LIKE A GENTILE, IN OTHER WORDS HE WAS SERVING CHRIST IN THE FREEDOM OF WALKING IN THE SPIRIT AND NOT IN THE FUTILE ATTEMPT OF STRICT ADHERENCE TO THE TORAH: "You are a Jew, yet you live like a Gentile and not like a Jew. How is it, then, that you force Gentiles to follow Jewish customs (THE TORAH)?" PAUL THEN CALLS THESE CUSTOMS THE LAW, "THE LAW" OR "THE TORAH" THREE TIMES: "15 “We who are Jews by birth and not sinful Gentiles 16 know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.

WHAT WAS PAULS CONCLUSION HERE IN GALATIONS? "19 “For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God."!!! PAUL SAID THAT THROUGH THE TORAH HE DIED TO THE TORAH SO THAT HE COULD LIVE FOR GOD."!! NOW " 10 Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of Gentiles a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors have been able to bear?" WE WILL OBEY GOD'S COMMANDMENTS AND THE RIGHTEOUS REQUIREMENTS OF THE LAW AS WE FOCUS TO LIVE TO OBEY CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD AND TO LEARN ABOUT HIM PRIMARILY THROUGH CHRIST'S AND THE APOSTLES' TEACHINGS WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT'S HELP, NOT AS WE FOCUS TO OBEY THE TORAH AND LEARN ABOUT CHRIST THROUGH AND FROM IT BY THE HELP OF THE SPIRIT.

THESE FOLKS ALSO ACTUALLY TEACH THIS IN THIS SAME TEACHING I HAVE IDENTIFIED ABOVE, "The Assertion of All Assertions:  As a believer in the one and only true God of Israel and in the work of His Messiah Yeshua, you should reject any doctrine that cannot clearly be supported by the Tanakh. You should only believe doctrines that can be fully substantiated by the Tanakh. Lastly, the Torah alone should be the foundation you build upon."

THAT IS A VERY SHOCKING PRECEDENT WHICH EXCLUDES ANY OF THE MANY UNIQUE TRUTHS THAT WERE DETAILED IN THE NEW TESTAMENT, THAT WERE NOT AGAINST THE TANAKH BUT WERE NOT EXPLAINED IN THE OLD TESTAMENT, OR THE MANY TRUE REVELATIONS THAT THE LORD JESUS GAVE TO PAUL, AND WOULD DISQUALIFY WHAT PAUL CLAIMED WAS THE LORD REVEALING THE TRUTH THROUGH PAUL, CALLING IT 'MY GOSPEL'. EPHESIANS 3:2-5: "2 Surely you have heard about the administration of God's grace that was given to me for you, 3 that is, the mystery made known to me by revelation, as I have already written briefly. 4 In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, 5 which was not made known to men in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God's holy apostles and prophets."

PAUL CLEARLY SAID IN EPH 3:5 THAT THESE THINGS ABOUT THE MYSTERY OF CHRIST "WAS NOT MADE KNOWN TO MEN IN OTHER GENERATIONS AS IT HAS NOW BEEN REVEALED BY THE SPIRIT TO GOD'S HOLY APOSTLES AND PROPHETS." THAT WOULD INCLUDE THE TANAKH, SO THIS IS EXTREMELY BLATANT HERESY, AS ANY LOVER OF THE TRUTH COULD EASILY SEE BY RE-READING THAT LAST ASSERTION AND UNDERSTANDING EACH TRUTH IN THE NEW TESTAMENT THAT IS LAID DOWN CLEARLY IN THE NEW TESTAMENT BUT NOT IN THE TANAKH!!!!!! ALL OF THESE TRUTHS IN THE NEW TESTAMENT WOULD HAVE TO BE BANNED AND THROWN OUT IF THE TORAH DIDN'T "FULLY SUBSTANTIATED BY THE TANAKH"!!!!! AND THEN THEY LAY DOWN AGAIN THAT ONLY THE TORAH ALONE SHOULD BE THE FOUNDATION YOU BUILD ON."!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS A BLATANT ATTEMPT TO OVERTHROW THE TRUTHS OF CHRIST AND THE NEW TESTAMENT BY MAKING THE TORAH AND THE TANAKH THE ONLY MEASURING STICK, THE ONLY STANDARD

LASTLY, IN THIS SAME TEACHING THEY STATE CONCERNING THE APOSTLES: "They never taught that Yeshua started something new or in any manner different from what the writers of the Tanakh had already taught. They simply taught Torah in the age of the Messiah." I WILL NOT EVEN ENNUMERATE THE OLD AND NEW TESTAMENT SCRIPTURES THAT DETAIL THAT THIS IS A NEW COVENANT, BUILT ON THE FOUNDATION OF CHRIST JESUS HIMSELF, THE APOSTLES AND PROPHETS, INCLUDING THE OLD TESTAMENT PROPHETS INCLUDING MOSES, THANK GOD FOR HIM AND THE TORAH!
